We assure you that you will not get bored here, this historic area of Kuala Lumpur is full of life : vibrant markets, street food stalls with unique flavors, and a charming mix of chaos and authenticity.
The famous Petaling Street is the epicentre, where you can haggle until you drop or try typical dishes such as char kway teow . And to lower your body temperature a few degrees, there's nothing better than a stroll through the Central Market , a shopping/cultural centre where you can get the typical souvenirs of the country, which also has local restaurants in its food court and other more well-kept ones on the ground floor.
One thing in Chinatown's favour is that it is well connected via the Pasar Seni intermodal station (MRT, LRT and buses) which allows you to quickly reach many points in the city. And also the Pudu Sentral station (known as Puduraya ) one of the most important bus terminals in the capital, with connections to other cities or the airport .
Accommodation is also usually quite cheap , with plenty of backpacker hostels, although in recent years small boutique hotels have also started to proliferate, so we think it's a good option for everyone. However, if you're looking for peace and quiet... it's better to choose another neighborhood: Chinatown is alive and well 24 hours a day!

Although it is located within the so-called "Golden Triangle", Chow Kit is a more authentic, local and quiet area. We can say that its streets have a more traditional atmosphere but with modern touches , which can be very interesting and attractive, not only for staying there, but also for a good walk around.
Specifically, the area near Quill Mall and The Row, which is packed with trendy bars, restaurants and cafes, is our favorite area to stay in Chow Kit. There are several great skyscrapers and hotels nearby that are great to stay at if you find a good deal.
Among its most emblematic spots are the Chow Kit Market , one of the largest and busiest markets in Kuala Lumpur, where you can mingle with the locals who come to do their daily shopping, and where you can gorge yourself on street food. Or Jalan Masjid India , a shopping street located next to the Indian-Muslim mosque Masjid India, built in 1863.

- The city has a large number of luxury hotels at surprisingly affordable prices, especially in skyscrapers where part of the property is used as a hotel and part is owned by independent owners, who in many cases list their apartments on platforms such as Airbnb or even Booking. Although the service may be worse, there are real bargains.
